Description

The old railway line and the Lichemialle station, vestiges of a recent past, bear witness to intense local activity.

1. From the starting point of the circuit, descend, cross the D 451 (be careful!) then
turn left to the intersection.

– Separation from PR 297 which continues straight.

2. At the intersection, turn right towards Tirvolet. Cross the hamlet, cross the D 45 (be careful!) and pass in front of the freestone farm. Continue for 60m.

3. Take the path to the right (viewpoint over the Suc de Bercary, Saint-Didier-en-Velay, the Forez mountains, the hamlets of Saint-Romain-Lachalm). Continue straight, then find the tar from the first houses of Lichemialle (former public school). Go straight until the D 45. Turn left (be careful!) and cross the level crossing.

– Junction with PR® 297 which arrives on the right. PRs are common until the end of the circuit.

4. Continue right towards Saint-Romain-Lachalm for 200 m. At the cross (XNUMXth century), take the path to the right, cross the railway line on the stone bridge. Continue on the uphill path.

5. At the clearing, turn right. Continue for 200 m to reach a second
clearing. Go down to the left to the edge of the Bois de Chamblanche. Go right.

6. Cross the Pont des Œufs, turn left, join the D 452, take it to the left for 20 m, cross it (caution!) and reach the hamlet of La Fayolle. At the entrance to the village, continue on the central path, turn left as far as the cross, then right to reach the starting point.
