Description
"Course in 3 distinct stages which begins from the point of view of the Grangent signal, one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Gorges with a superb view of the island of Grangent. The first part is mainly uphill, relatively rolling on its first part , it allows a good warm-up before attacking the first slopes. This first climb is punctuated by several hamlets including Etrat before exiting Les Mures, the end point of this first climb. The first 5 kilometers of this route are constantly climbing to reach the highest point of the route at an altitude of 667 m which offers a clear panorama of the Forez and Pilat mountains. The Loire plays hide and seek below the Gorges.
A long descent to Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert follows. This descent offers a multitude of facets, sometimes fast, sometimes winding and technical. Arrival on the banks of the Loire is via the motocross field and the glassworks of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert.
A short flat respite along the Loire and the last part of the route comes into view. Once you arrive in the hamlet of Asnière, a final beautiful climb of more than 2 km awaits you to La Baraillere. Once hoisted to the top, the return is as on the way up on a gentle slope to the viewpoint over the Loire.”
