VTT N°110 Les plateaux des gorges de la Loire
On the heights of the Loire gorges, this sports course offers a loop on the plateaus to enjoy the great heritage of the region but also very beautiful views from the hamlet of Theil on the foothills of Pilat.

Description
"A very varied route, mixing sporty climbs and moments of respite, rapid or technical descents, there is something for everyone. Its length allows you to discover different points of view. Classified as black, it remains accessible for any trained mountain biker.
The departure from Essalois is on a gentle asphalt slope in order to warm up. The first descent is technical and requires caution because it occurs very early in the course. Then follows an ascent on a wide path towards Laborie.
The second part of the route is nervous and alternates short climbs and brief descents. Passing through Vassalieux offers a beautiful view of Notre-Dame de Grâce. The circuit oscillates between different hamlets on the heights of Chambles, Meyrieux and Le Theil, a welcome passage to recover after some intense efforts. This part offers superb views of the Forez mountains and the Saint-Maurice en Gourgois plateau.
The last part is more sporty and requires you to keep a little more under the pedal. After a beautiful dive into the heart of the Loire gorges towards Caloire, the climb back to Biesse will finish wearing out the last daredevils. Once arrived in Biesse, the return to Essalois is common with circuit no. 109 and is smooth.”
