Sandrine Bouchand volunteered at the evening Rockin' Velay Tonight ! A beautiful event that takes place on 2nd Saturday in October each year.
This event brought together 32 volunteers.

My function was to photographically cover the event accompanied by another photographer. So I had the pleasure of being at the forefront of all the events.

I put myself in the tone of the day by donning an outfit worthy of the event!'

Then the vintage cars (Route 43-US car association) and motorcycles arrived in the Capitelle car park: Chevrolet, Camaro, Ford Mustang, Harley… The sun was shining, and the cars were gleaming!

A car procession went to parade in the city center to stop on the church square. A large audience welcomed them while rock classes were coming to an end at the downtown gymnasium.
A "rockabilly maniac" DJ and a rock band "Sonic Cats" (co-produced in partnership with Monistrol a'tout) made the public dance in the street and on a floor installed for this purpose, the atmosphere was at the top, Monistrol vibrated to the sound of Rock.

Back at the Capitelle, the groups settle down and do their soundchecks.

The volunteers are busy making sure everything is ready for the arrival of the public: setting up equipment, chairs, the bar, the entrance, the cloakroom...

Stands are set up: customization of guitars and pin-up drawings, maps and photos from the 50s, fifties clothing store...

20:30 p.m.: Doors open for the evening. Beautiful outfits from the 50s are offered to our eyes: we are immersed in the past...it's magic! About 500 people attend the event.

The first group to enter the scene is the Cactus Candies: a great introduction!

The second group “Jake Calypso and His Red Hot” will even make me forget my mission as a photographer at some point, as his energy was contagious and his communication with the public generous.

The third group “The Spunyboys” had everything to delight my photographer's eye: the singer's impressive banana, his admirable stage play with his double bass which he makes dance, jump in the air.

In summary, an exciting day, a great experience and 400 photos selected and processed.

About Odile

My pleasure ? The walks, the observation of nature and more especially of birds and plants, the concerts and various shows, the charm of the "old stones", the little restaurants, the meetings with enthusiasts of all kinds,... For real to say, in the Gorges de la Loire, there are a multitude of things that make me happy! I never tire of exploring these corners of Haute-Loire again and again because there is always something to discover, even when you were born there! And icing on the cake, my job allows me to share my passions!
