Le Plateau de la Madeleine

A magnificent view awaits you at the top of the Madeleine plateau. A breathtaking view of the Loire Valley, Meygal, Mont Mouchet, the Cévennes, the Alps….
It is at the top of this volcanic plateau that you will be able to appreciate the 360° view of the territory of juices and much more!

Formerly called the “pey Ibis”, certain legends give it the role of a place of worship under the Late Roman Empire. At the top, three orientation tables will allow you to appreciate the landscape and in particular the plateau which once separated the mandate of Chalencon from the lordship of Beauzac and the priory of Confolent.
You will discover a chapel built in honor of Saint Madeleine. This chapel, first built at the end of the 13th century, was rebuilt in 1885 after being destroyed during the Revolution. In the 16th and 17th centuries, cult of Saint-Roch invoked against the plague…. From the date of his blessing and inauguration on August 16, 1885, the pilgrimage and the annual feast of Saint-Roch continues on August 16.
