in Saint-Paul-en-Cornillon

Point de vue depuis le Mont Fayn

From Mont Fayn (accessible via Chemin des Jonquilles), several views are available to you by moving a few dozen meters: view of the meander of St Paul, of Aurec upstream and the Gorges de la Semène,
view towards the Cornillon castle, and in the distance the Pertuiset bridge.
A reading table enhances the panorama.
The anecdote: The town of Saint-Paul-en-Cornillon is structured around two distinct towns, which differ radically due to their geographical positioning. The village nestled in the hollow of a large meander of the Loire, Saint-Paul, seems to have developed around an ancient Benedictine priory attested from the 9th century. Conversely, that of Cornillon developed on the foothills of the imposing granite peak which still bears the castle of the same name, giving it an almost Celtic air. Connecting the two groups, the railway viaduct known as “the XNUMX bridges” completes these spectacular panoramas.
Note: Bell tower of the Cornillon church listed as a Historic Monument by the decree of October 19, 1927.
Château partially listed as a Historic Monument by the decree of November 15, 2007 (for the outbuildings, the interior decor, the enclosure and the garden). The castle is today private property.
