Point de vue depuis Le Pertuiset

In the heart of the Regional Nature Reserve, follow the PR2 hiking trail "From Pertuiset to Noierie", and observe the grandeur of the Pertuiset viaduct crossing the Loire, and if you turn your head, a view overlooking the Ondaine valley .
Note: An ancient crossing point on the Loire, Le Pertuiset was a small pass which allowed you to cross the rocky ridge separating the Ondaine and Loire valleys. From Pertuiset, we went back down to the level of the Loire river, which we crossed using ferries, at the level of the Mûre.
With the demographic and industrial boom of the 19th century, a first bridge was built to cross the Loire. The location of Pertuiset as a thoroughfare will make it a privileged vacation spot for the people of Saint-Etienne. It becomes a place of leisure easily accessible from the city, with a magnificent landscape along the river. Le Pertuiset becomes the ideal Sunday destination for many Saint-Etienne residents, who come to taste fried food caught in the Loire in taverns, walk on the beaches or discover the landscape of the gorges by taking the train on the newly built line.
Although these uses were somewhat lost after the creation of Lake Grangent, Pertuiset remains an ideal starting point for walking in the Regional Nature Reserve and admiring its landscapes.
The current bridge, known as the “Bicentennial Bridge of the Revolution”, was inaugurated in 1989. Its deck is 14m wide, and its Y-shaped pylon measures 48,48m above the deck.
