story

Hearing Thibault tell them about a weekend on the Loire, his children were expecting to set off to conquer the Renaissance castles between Blois and Saumur... But it's in the southeast of the Massif-Central they have landed! Far from being the wild and majestic river that we know, the Loire is still a river over there which goes back due north after having taken its source at the foot of Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc and descended the Ardèche slopes in the form of a small mountain stream.

To discover the plant wonders of the river, Thibault asked Charlie, guide specializing in wild plants, to accompany them. The children then enjoy a hell of a feast: comfrey, lamb's quarters... That doesn't mean they skip the marshmallows in the evening at the bivouac!

The next day, they are promised cliff jumps, a few sporty rapids and a great trout fishing session: in other words, the excitement hasn't helped them get to sleep.

Day 1

Arrival the evening before at our place of accommodation. On the program the next day: 9 km (2 hours of paddling) between Confolent and Bas-en-Basset. Class 2 route with some easy rapids, accessible from 6-7 years old who can swim. Wake up then leave by car to go to the canoe base located in Bas-en-Basset. Recovery of water and meals for the two days, provided by the caterer (organic and local). Full day of canoeing on the Loire, accompanied by a nature guide.

We strongly advise you to be accompanied by a nature guide specialized in wild plants: discovering the plants but also the ways of cooking them to taste them on the spot or at home has been a big favorite for children and adults alike. of their micro-adventure!"

Mischievous Albatross

Night in bivouac on the banks of the Loire or on the canoe base. If you choose the canoe base as the location, you do not need to take the tent on the canoe because the bivouac is where the car is parked. If you prefer a wilder corner, you will have to load the cans and travel light!

Day 2

17 km (4 hours of paddling) between Bas-en-Basset and Aurec-sur-Loire. Class 2 route with fewer rapids. Canoeing day calmer and in autonomy, between Bas-en-Basset and Aurec-sur-Loire. For the spots of secret coves, there are a lot of them on the way: keep an eye out! Note however, a much sportier rapid at the end of the route, to be avoided with children by having them walk down.
