What is your link with the Gorges de la Loire?
I grew up in Monistrol-sur-Loire and went to college and high school Notre Dame du Château. From 6 to 8 years old, I practiced football, then discovered mountain biking at the Sainte-Sigolène club “Golène Evasion” with my cousin and my uncle (the president of the club at the time). Saturday was training day at the club….
Very good memories with friends, parties of laughs and "prints of
wads”. A year later I started competing at the regional level, I immediately “hooked” on the races… The fact of surpassing oneself and giving the best of oneself, while having fun!
On the bike, the key word is pleasure!'
Can you tell us about your life as a champion? Your next goals?
I train 15 to 25 hours a week. I do a lot of quality and less quantity! For 3 years, I have integrated bodybuilding throughout the season, due to the evolution of mountain biking which requires more and more explosiveness. In a normal season, I have about fifteen competition weekends. I joined a new team in January 2023: BMC Racing. My next goals are the title of world champion 2023, the podiums of the world cup and of course the qualification for the J0 2024 in Paris!
Do you have any tips or advice for children and their families?
You have to eat a variety of everything. On my plate, I like
the colour ! I eat a third portion of vegetables, a
one-third protein, animal or vegetable, and one-third carbohydrate (pasta, rice, etc.)
And on the bike, the key word is PLEASURE! Share and enjoy good times with family or friends, because time flies.
What are your places of healing, the sites of the Gorges de la Loire that you like to discover...?
I really like them Bilhard Gorge, close to the town center of Monistrol, this place with small waterfalls and this steep place with beautiful
stone walls…, the banks of the Loire above Confolent and also the paths around the Semène river!
