Can you tell us about your journey to the direction of the cruise ship?
I succeeded my father-in-law, Michel Collot, at the controls of the electric vessel Le Grangent. Graduated in marketing and communication, I worked for twenty years in the media and event communication. I obtained my first pleasure boating license at 28 and won my captaincy before settling at the controls of Le Grangent as a shipowner.
There are many boat trips in France. In your opinion, what makes the singularity, the interest of the walks on the Lac de Grangent?
Along the water, in the meanders of the Loire, discovering the reasons for choosing this part of the river for the construction of a water retention dam, makes this walk a marvelous singularity. Being able to admire the lake of Grangent under its various environmental aspects with its medieval constructions erected from the XNUMXth century on the crests of the Gorges de la Loire, gives an incredible attraction.
Nature, wild, and preserved, the lake takes us into a green lung.
What are the regulatory obligations to "steer"
a boat like yours?
A certificate of competency for the conduct of commercial vessels in inland waters, issued by examination only by the services of the prefecture, after a minimum of 4 years of learning.
What type of audience do you welcome?
We welcome all audiences: schoolchildren for an educational cruise, families for cultural cruises, extra-local groups with tasting tours for lunch or dinner, business seminars for atypical immersive experiences, theme evenings or private events... Everyone has its place on our cruises!
Do you have any projects or
ongoing thoughts for you
allow you to develop your
activity ?
I like to imagine atypical and original events; example the Péniche or the white party! Projects to create new piers, a car park, a new boat to navigate upstream of the Loire gorges are projects that are very close to my heart!
From the Plateau de la Danse, to the juices of Yssingeaux, to the fortress of Polignac, there are many walks that "transport" me.'
If you had to name 3 activities
or 3 places very close to the lake
that allow you to
recharge after the days
charged in the summer or at the end of
season ?
From the Plateau de la Danse, to the juices of Yssingeaux, to the fortress of Polignac, there are many walks that “transport” me. My daily resources, I draw them through a nature walk from the Chambles tower or a canoe ride along the water from Saint-Paul-en-Cornillon to Aurec-sur-Loire.
