Go to Haute-Loire for a day. We have tested two exceptional activities for you. In the morning, we followed a superb walk with the birds of prey of the Rochebaron flight: magical! In the afternoon, we embarked on a canoe descent on the wild Loire between Beauzac, Monistrol-sur-Loire and Aurec-sur-Loire.
One-day road trip to Rochebaron and canoeing in the Gorges de la Loire
Discover the stages of this day to discover the 1st castles of the Loire : the fortress of Rochebaron and its nest of birds of prey, but also the descent by canoe on the Loire in immersion with the river.
Walk with the birds of prey of Rochebaron
In the morning, we start with a 2 km walk around the castle of Rochebaron with a bird of prey accompanied by Nicolas the falconer. A magical experience when “Onyx” the Harris buzzard, follows us, launches into an aerial ballet, brushes our hair on the way back and comes to rest on the glove lent by the falconer.
The hike is proposed every Wednesday in summer and is possible all year round by reservation for small groups.
The visit of the castle can be done freely and raptor shows are offered every afternoon in high season.

Canoeing on the wild Loire around Bas-en-Basset and Aurec-sur-Loire
In the afternoon, we canoe down the Loire, between rapids and flats, the itinerary is super authentic. We live an experience as close as possible to the river, with the feeling of completely immersing ourselves in these wild landscapes, between rocks and dazzling green vegetation! It's not the Amazon, but it looks like it 😏!
