Located in the heart of the medieval town of Aurec-sur-Loire, the Château Seigneurial is full of secrets and history. After having had very good feedback from the visit to the castle, we took advantage of this gloomy day to go and discover this fortress for ourselves. As soon as we arrive, we meet Corentin, our guide for this afternoon.

Beginning of the visit, we start with the castle park which has been redesigned as in the 18th century. The majestic blue cedar shades us, while we listen to Corentin tell us how this castle was built and designed.

We then push open the doors of the castle. We are given a key, the key to the castle! Thanks to her, we sneak from room to room. In the frieze room, we turn the crank, we discover the evolution of the construction of the castle from the year 1000 to today. 4 characters appear; we have difficulty remembering their names but we will learn to discover them during the visit!

A small staircase then takes us into the portrait gallery.
“Oh look!” the table is moving! » We meet Dauphine de Saint Bonnet, Claude de la Roue, Françoise de Nerestang and Marie-Louise de Genestet who tell us stories and anecdotes about their castle life. Little more that we learn from Corentin, the story of Françoise de Nerestang comes from real writings which have been preserved since the beginning of the 17th century and….she would still roam the walls of the Castle today!? Corentin reassures the little ones that since he has been working there, no one has seen her yet!

We continue to walk the corridors, it feels like a real maze! We arrive at the immersive room. Wow! It really feels like it! We can discover the evolution of living rooms by following the adventures of our characters in more than real settings.

Corentin then takes us to the costume room, where we hasten to put one on, for a nice souvenir photo. Before going to one of the last rooms, the large spiral staircase opens its doors to us and we arrive in the old kitchen. A grand banquet is set! Lots of quizzes are offered on period dishes from sauce making to beer making.

Last room and one of the most important, that of the rotating fruit tree, open especially during guided tours. It’s cool there! What's the point ? How it works ? What is it ? All these questions to which Corentin answers us.

End of visit… We leave with a wealth of knowledge and history to tell. We won't tell you any more, come and discover this place full of history!

To know ! the visit can also be done independently to discover castle life with your family at your own pace.
